Happy Mother’s Day! Being a mother is the sweetest gift—whether you are in the waiting, suffered an unimaginable loss or a mother to many—we celebrate and honor you!

We are a mother-daughter team running The Cottage Farmhouse, and we loved the idea of highlighting our CF mamas! We always say that The Cottage Farmhouse is “Where your happily ever after BEGINS…” and that is true for so many of our sweet couples. They started their marriage journey at our venue and have built a meaningful foundation for their future. For us, it is more than just weddings, and we continue to champion our couples who are on this rollercoaster we call life.

We asked our couples two questions: 1. what was your favorite memory from your wedding day? and 2. what is your favorite part about being a mother? and their responses not only inspired us, but also brought us to tears. Happy reading!

1. Our day was so special, we loved every single moment of it! One of my most cherished parts of the day was getting ready in the gorgeous bridal suite with all my bridesmaids and mom. We laughed, we cried and shared so many great memories. Our day was perfect.

2. The best part of being a mother (yet so bittersweet) is watching your beautiful little baby grow into their own person. All the little moments and milestones with your baby means everything, I just wish it didn’t go by so fast. My babies are my world.

1. Hands down, the best part of my wedding day was walking back down the aisle with Jake. Those butterflies felt at the realization that I was officially married to my best friend were nothing short of magical.

2. The best part of motherhood are the big moments but more so those in between moments that are easy to under appreciate, the hugs after a cry, their head on your shoulder, hearing them say your name, the smile when you get them out of bed. Being a mom has grounded me in my purpose in life. To love without conditions and support with no boundaries.🤍

1. Getting married at The Cottage Farmhouse was absolutely everything that we could have dreamt it to be. One of my favorite memories from our day was sneaking away after our ceremony to just take in those first few moments as husband and wife.

2. So incredibly grateful that God chose me to be the mama of our two beautiful babies. Getting to introduce our children to nature is one thing I will never take for granted. There is just something so special about watching the amazement and wonder in their eyes.

1. Best part of our day was honestly just having all of our favorite people in one place to celebrate us, although my favorite fun memory was the surprise flash mob our guests did.

2. Best part of being a mom is getting to see all the simple joys of life through their eyes!

1. The best part of our wedding day (there are way too many to choose from), but being surrounded by all the people who love us so much and have supported us through our lives. I remember walking from the house after we signed our marriage certificate and we’re walking down to the reception area, and I couldn’t believe how many people were there to support us and our love story. Justin and I just looked at each other and exchanged a look that said, we’re so blessed. ❤️

2. My favorite part about being a mom is giving and being loved by someone so much!! I didn’t think I could love someone so much, but my heart has grown so incredibly much. And to have a sweet baby who loves you no matter what - there’s no better feeling. ❤️ She’s 9 months now and it’s so fun to watch her learn something new each day and smile each time she sees you 😊 that smile turns me into a puddle every dang time!

Myckenzie + Brian | 10.3.2020

1. The best part of our wedding day was having all of our family and friends there with us to celebrate our marriage. It was a stressful time (Oct 2020) during the pandemic, so having all our family and friends together after being apart for awhile; made it even more special. One of my favorite memories from the day was when my sisters, who were both my maid of honors, gave me a book filled with letters from each one of them and my bridesmaids. The letters were so sweet and made me so thankful for who I had chosen to be by my side on our wedding day.

2. Annie is our 18mo old daughter. Her birthday is 1 week before our wedding anniversary 😊 My favorite part about being a mother is sharing in all of Annie’s new experiences and showing her what life has to offer. Watching her start to talk and understand what we say to her is amazing. She is at such a fun age right now too, so we have enjoyed that a lot!

Kara + Jonathan | 6.16.2019

1. The best part of my wedding was having all of the people who have poured into our life all in one place. It was such a special day, and so many special people were involved in our ceremony and our events.

2. The best part of being a mom… Oh man, how do I choose?? I love the way that my son has my whole heart and I get to be his mom. I love his sweet smiles, and seeing his personality develop, and it is a JOY to get to love him and be one of his primary disciplers. I am constantly humbled each day that God entrusted this sweet boy to my (and my husband’s) care 💛

1. My husband and I often reflect on our wedding day and think about just how perfect and fun it was! Some of my favorite memories were getting ready in the gorgeous bridal suite with all of my favorite women in my life, sharing our personal vows in the beautiful barn and then never leaving the dance floor that evening! It was a truly magical and perfect day that was filled with so much fun and love!

2. It is truly the biggest blessing to be Brooks and Easton’s Mama. One of my favorite parts of being their mom, is watching their personalities develop and finding ways to help them shine. They are always making us smile and laugh and it is just wild to watch them grow. Being their mama means I’m their biggest advocate, cheerleader and source of comfort and it is a complete honor and a role I do not take for granted.

Meredith + Zachary | 6.25.22

1. A cherished memory I have from our wedding day is when my husband was expecting our first look together with his back turned, but I surprised him with our daughter's first look as our flower girl instead.

2. The best part of being a mother is seeing their personalities change and grow each year as they discover who they are and what they love to spend time doing. There may be nothing better than getting to see your first born turn into a big sibling!
